The host organizers are Drs. Lynn Y. Sakai, Hans Peter Bachinger, and William Horton. All are Professors at OHSU and senior investigators at the Shriners Hospital for Children. The Organizing committee includes Drs. Leena Bruckner-Tuderman, Peter Byers, and Hal Dietz.

The focus of the meeting will be on scientific goals described above, as a means to identify the most promising translational opportunities for the heritable disorders of connective tissue. However, presentations are expected to cover a broad range of topics, from the identification of new disease genes to novel cellular and molecular pathways involving disease genes and proteins to new therapeutic approaches. It is expected that the focus on the scientific goals of the meeting will inform discussions in all sessions.
